India on Wednesday offered Zambia 100 solar-powered irrigation equipment to help the southern African nation develop its agriculture sector.
The Indian government further pledged to set up a small and medium enterprise incubation center where local entrepreneurs will be trained.
This was after Zambian President Edgar Lungu and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi witnessed the signing of six memorandum of understanding, according to a release from Lungu’s office.
The Zambian leader is in India on a three-day state visit at the invitation of his counterpart Ram Nath Kovind.
The Indian prime minister said his government will also provide 1,000 tons of rice to the Zambian government.
The Zambian leader said he expects increased cooperation between the two countries and Indian investment after his visit. Enditem
