Inflation in Nigeria up by 13.7 percent

Nigeria's inflation in April rose to 13.7 percent as against 12.8 percent in March, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said Monday.


According to NBS report, electricity rates, kerosene prices, the impact of higher fuel prices and vehicle spare parts were the largest contributors to inflation during the month.

inflation-300x188.jpgAccording to the report, the food sub-index increased by 13.2 percent in April, up by 0.4 percentage points from rates recorded in March.

It added that all major food groups which contribute to the food sub-index increased
