Maimuna Mohammed, the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Culture and Tourism, told Xinhua in Yola, the state capital that the activities of insurgency has drastically affected the patronage of many tourism sites in the state.

She cited Sukur World Heritage site located in Madagali Local Government area of the state as one of the tourism locations.

Mohammed said if not for the insurgency, the state would have utilized its tourism potentials to boost revenue at this critical time of drastic fall in oil revenue and the quest to diversify local revenue base.

The secretary called on the state government to rehabilitate the Yola amusement park as another source of revenue. Enditem
