Henry Quartey, the Minister for the Interior, has revised the curfew hours imposed on Bawku Municipality and its surroundings in the Upper East Region of Ghana.
The decision, enacted through an Executive Instrument based on advice from the Upper East Regional Security Council, aims to manage local security challenges effectively.
Effective Tuesday, July 23, 2024, the curfew hours will now be from 10:00 PM to 4:00 AM daily.
In a government statement, all stakeholders, including Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and residents of the area, were urged to maintain calm amidst existing challenges. The statement emphasized peaceful methods to address grievances and promote sustainable regional peace.
The adjustment reflects ongoing efforts by the government to ensure the safety and stability of Bawku and its environs, fostering an environment conducive to community growth and development.
