The National Theater of Ghana and the United States Embassy, in collaboration with the United Nations Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), will host international music and cultural exchange workshop in Accra from May 30th to June 3rd.
The four-day workshop, labeled: “Next Level,” is open to artistes between the ages of 15 and 25 years who can dance, make musical beats, do graffiti art, and rap or emcee.
According to a National Theatre statement copied to the Ghana News Agency in Tema, the purpose of the workshop is to reach out to diverse groups and facilitate sharing and collaboration between American and beneficiary artistes, participants, and their communities.
According to the statement, a performance would be produced from the workshop and it would feature American artists.
The event will be opened to the public.
The artistes are also expected to visit schools and community centres to organize workshops.
Intercultural exchanges, community building, and conflict resolution are also important goals for this programme, the statement stated.
