Iran coach Dragan Skocic said on Thursday that Team Melli need to hold preparatory matches based on his philosophy ahead of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification.
“The competitions were postponed due to the coronavirus, and we don’t know when we can hold our training camp,” Skocic was quoted as saying by Persian Football website.
“I have to explain my philosophy to my players, but it is not possible without playing football. This is a key issue that needs to be taken into consideration,” Skocic said.
“This is my duty to know my team’s weaknesses since I don’t want to waste my time,” the Croat added.
It was announced here on Thursday that Iran’s national football team will play Uzbekistan and Tajikistan in friendly matches in October.
Iran sit third, behind Iraq and Bahrain, in Group C of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Asian Zone qualification.
