Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Sunday called for unity among Afghan political parties and establishment of peace and stability in the country, Press TV reported.

The Iranian minister termed Afghanistan’s constitution as the basis for national reconciliation in the neighboring country.

Zarif made the remarks in a telephone conversation with Mohammed Haneef Atmar, acting minister-designate of foreign affairs of Afghanistan.

He also highlighted the promotion of relations between Tehran and Kabul in diverse areas.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry has expressed its support for a UN plan to implement a cease-fire in Afghanistan, official IRNA news agency reported. Enditem
