Irate NDC Youth Sets Party Office At Sekyeredumasi Ablaze

From Eliasu Tanko

A group of implacable youth of the NDC at Ejura-Sekyeredumasi constituency has today stormed their party office with cutlasses, trencheons, and guns and made away all items including a satellite dish and nearly set the place on fire.

The irate youth was establishing their displeasure at the president decision to appoint Alhaji Mohammed Bawa Braima as the Municipal Chief Executive of the area. According to them, the president has made an ill decision which would largely affect the party forever.

Among other things, they claimed, the nominee, Alhaji Bawa or Bawa ‘Aburo’ as they preferred calling him is not a unifier, a political traitor and hypocrite who left the NDC party anytime he thinks there are challenges. They cited a classical example when he left the party and joined the Ackaah’s party and subsequently stood on the independent candidate in 1996.

The group leader, Baaba Amadu Bamba added that, Bawa Braima played a gigantic role in the defeat of the party parliamentary candidate in the last ended general election when he crusaded for ‘skirt and blouse’ voting; a voting pattern in Ghana where a presidential candidate is voted for and its parliamentary candidate voted against and vice versa. He rhetorically asked why it is rather NPP activists who celebrates and jubilate over the appointment. It goes without saying that, the NPP would have cool ‘chop’ again in 2016 because their ‘man’ has been elevated.

The youth has however warned that, they can strike at anytime even though some of the party leaders have appealed to them to exercise more restraint. Insults were trowelled at the president by the youth.
They concluded that they are waiting for the day set aside to confirmed or otherwise the nominee. They warned both regional and national executives not to set foot in the area to save their lives.

However, the commander of Police in the area, inspector James Annor said that, the police have not received any official complain and described their action as “relocation of items”
It is imperative also to exposed that, the security in the area have given this macabre issue less attention.
