??. After Failing To Obtain Two-Thirds Majority In First Round?

After failing to obtain two-thirds majority of the total votes cast as required by the Local Government Act of 1993, ACT 462, the DCE for Wassa Amenfi West, Hon. Samuel Meisu is being accused by some members of the assembly of attempting to impose himself on the them.

SAMUEL MEISUInformation gathered by this paper from the area indicate that Hon. Meisu is making frantic efforts to organize another assembly election as a way of making sure he achieve his frustrated efforts of becoming the DCE for the second time.

The information further reveals that the frustrated DCE is using some National Security personnel in the area to organize the said election scheduled for today, Friday 26th July 2013.

Checks conducted by this paper in the area reveal that the DCE and his cohorts are planning to use some of the NDC Regional and District executives as supervisors of the planned election after the Regional Electoral Returning Officer who supervised the first has decline to supervise the upcoming elections because according to him, it is unlawful and illegal, since the DCE was given an outright knock-out during the first election.

The DCE, Hon Samuel Meisu obtained 13 out of the 29 votes cast by the Assembly during the first election held on Tuesday, 16th July, 2013.

As a result of his attempt to organize another election, members of the assembly have vehemently vowed to vote against him. ?We are ready to vote against him even if the election is re-organized for hundred times.?
