Islamic nations called upon to unite in the fight against terrorism

Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi on Sunday said the Islamic states should unite in the fight against terrorism, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

The Indonesian official stressed that terrorism has nothing to with Islam, stressing that all Muslim communities need to be one hand in the face of terrorist organization that tarnish the image of Islam.

At a meeting with Jordanian Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour in Amman, the Indonesian official said Indonesia was following up closely on developments in the Middle East and the stalled Palestinian-Israeli peace talks.

She also stressed on the key role Jordan plays in defending the Palestinian issue and holy Islamic and Christian sites in Jerusalem.

Noting that the war on terrorism is the war that should be waged by Muslims, Ensour said Jordan is at the forefront of fighting terrorism and extremism.

On the Palestinian issue, Ensour said the Palestinian issue is the core of conflicts in the Middle East.
