Joel Fameyeh celebrating for the Local Black Stars

Ghana missed out on a fourth consecutive CHAN finals appearance after suffering elimination at the hands on Ivory Coast on the away-goals rule.

The Local Black Stars lost 1-0 on Friday to tie 2-2 on aggregate but that favoured the Elephants advance.

Davy Koffi Boua scored for Michel Dussuyer’s side on 35 minutes to go into the break with the lead at the Robert Champroux de Marcory Stadium.

Ivory Coast did the job in Kumasi two weeks ago when they opened the scoring but succumbed 2-1 at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Ghana’s inability to qualify means both winners Libya and runners up will not be present at next year’s finals in Rwanda.
