John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has unveiled a comprehensive support package aimed at revitalizing Ghana’s 24-hour Economy.

Announced during the NDC’s manifesto launch in Winneba on August 24, Mahama’s plan includes strategic infrastructure, security, and energy investments to bolster businesses’ 24/7 operations.

Central to the initiative is introducing a “Time-of-Use” tariff system, designed to offer more affordable and reliable electricity during off-peak hours.

This measure aims to reduce business operational costs and encourage extended operating hours.

Mahama also promised tax incentives to alleviate financial pressures on businesses, supporting growth and expansion.

The package includes significant public and private security investments to ensure a safe environment for both businesses and consumers.

Mahama highlighted that sectors like agro-processing and manufacturing would receive targeted support through the Ghana Exim Bank, which will provide financial assistance to enhance exports and strengthen the industrial base.

Mahama also addressed the challenges faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), committing to catalytic investments that would enable these businesses to expand, create jobs, and contribute more substantially to the national Economy.
