Brig. Henry Tumukunde
This after Joseph Yiga Magandazi, the proprietor of a real estate company, Jomayi, dragged him to court seeking an interim order stopping Tumukunde from evicting him and selling off his 200 acres of land located at Bujuko Satellite City on Mityana Road.
According to the documents tendered to court, Jomayi claims that in December 2012, he entered into a purchase agreement of 200 acres of land with Brig. Tumukunde at sh3.5b payable within 90 working days. He managed to pay sh2.9b.
To his dismay, Tumukunde terminated the sale agreement and issued a press notice to that effect and also started introducing potential buyers without his knowledge.
Jomayi further claims that on April 22, 2015, he received a letter from Tumukunde?s lawyers, Tumusiime Kabega & Co Advocates accusing him of breaching the sale agreement and informing him that his agreement had been officially terminated.
Jomayi has asked court to issue an interim injunction barring Tumukunde from evicting and re-selling the land in question until the main suit is finalised. Court registrar Thaddeus Opesen issued a 15-day ultimatum for Tumukunde to file his defence.
