The 10th edition of the Joy FM Beauty and Bridal Fair ended yesterday at the International Conference Centre in Accra.
The event was under the theme ?Loving Your Mate through the Series of Life.?
The yearly event is designed to educate young persons seeking to marry on how to cut cost during their wedding and to serve as a one-stop shop for all wedding accessories.
Speaking at the event, Mrs.Pearl Mensah, Deputy Managing Director ,UT Bank, said expensive wedding ceremonies often leave couples in debt. ?Expensive wedding ceremonies often results in huge debts for the newlyweds. This event is to help people preparing to marry chose what they can afford.?
?Marriage has gone through a series of changes over the years. People wanting to get married need to go for pre-marital counselling and plan their wedding ahead of time.?
Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, a radio presenter, said the event has been carefully planned to include medical practitioners to offer pre-marital medical counselling, and help address some of the likely medical problem would-be couples will encounter.
Products exhibited at the four-day event included bridal?s gown, shoes, suit, beads, Africans? cloth, wedding rings, wedding cakes, cosmetics among others.
Exhibitors at the event included Dreams Dessert Confectionery, Oak Plaza Hotel, Catherine Garments, Unique Decor, Jandel Limited, Black Secret Makeup, Dark and Lovely, Nallem Clothing, and Minute Maid.
The Beauty and Bridal Fair instituted in 2003 brings together the biggest collection of bridal service providers and products. Over 40,000 visitors attended the fair.
