The Japan Week event which is well packed celebration began from Saturday,ends on Saturday and Sunday, November 8, 2015, with a Judo competition

jopMany Judokas have been waiting for this day to show their skills and the Ghana Judo Federation led by Melvin Brown call on sports fans to come to the Sports Hall to cheer them on.

He noted that admission is free and fans of the martial arts, especially judo are invited.

Razak Abugri, who won medals for Ghana at international events appealed to companies to support the sports which ensures that players are always disciplined.

Some of the activities that are taking place are movie shows, Japanese language Speech Contest, Rakugo (Japanese Stage Comedy), Ghana Yosakoi Japan Festival and Judo and Karate Championships.

Aside that there will be a lot of display of Japanese culture in terms of dance, music, food and many more.
Last year’s celebration brought together the Japanese Community in Ghana and a lot of Ghanaians who love Japanese culture or were curious about it.

The Japanese Ambassador to Ghana, Kaoru Yoshimura has also commended the media for promoting Japan and Ghana relations. He urged Ghanaians to try to learn the Japanese cultures and the sports disciplines.

Ezekiel Dodoo, national Judo coach told yours truely Judo can take Ghana high and also create an avenue to train security persons. He urged parents to allow their wards to play Judo
