Justin Frimpong Koduah, the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has defended his recent criticism of certain government appointees from the Bono Region, expressing no regrets for his comments.
Speaking at the NPP’s Ashanti Regional campaign launch in Kumasi, Koduah reiterated his dissatisfaction with some appointees who have lost touch with the party’s grassroots and electorate.
In a recent Facebook post, Koduah warned that some appointees were out of sync with the party’s base, stating, “Feedback from my tour of the Bono region shows that some appointees have lost touch with their base. Don’t force me to start mentioning names; do the needful.”
Koduah emphasized his frustration, noting, “I’m very disappointed in them.
I have already sent the signal to them. When I get to Accra, I will engage them one-on-one to let them know. Next time, I will come in public to mention their names.”
He stressed that any obstruction within the party would not be tolerated as the NPP prepares for the upcoming general elections.
“The New Patriotic Party is contesting the presidential election to win, and no single individual can hold us down,” Koduah asserted.
The remarks come as the NPP gears up for the December 7 elections.
The party’s campaign launch in Kumasi also introduced their campaign song for the 2024 elections.
The event was attended by Vice Presidential candidate Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, national executives, and Members of Parliament from the Ashanti Region.
