The couple, already parents to son Silas, who will turn 2 next April, “were struggling to get pregnant, so they’ve recently turned to in vitro fertilization,” the source tells In Touch.
“With IVF, you can choose the sex of your baby. After thinking about it for a few days, they made the decision to only implant female embryos,” the source explains.
“It’s always been Justin’s dream to have a little girl — he got really emotional when they told the doctor that’s what they wanted,” the source tells In Touch. “The idea of having a baby girl was melting his heart. He loves being a dad and having a daughter would complete their family.”
