Dr Justice Amoh, CEO of Justmoh Company, which oversees the construction of the Boankra Inland Port, has appealed to Parliament to ensure necessary funding for completing phase one of the project, which is currently at forty per cent progress.
During a Committee on Roads and Transport visit on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, Dr Amoh highlighted the project’s national significance and the challenges faced due to delayed payments since November 2023. He expressed gratitude for the committee’s historic visit, marking the first such inspection in his thirty-five years in the construction industry.
“We have been in contact with our banks to keep the project moving forward,” Dr. Amoh stated, emphasizing the need for parliamentary intervention to expedite funding availability.
Originally budgeted at $330 million, the project has seen its cost revised to $380 million, with $110 million secured through a concession agreement. Dr. Amoh confirmed that the contract regulatory processes are underway and are awaiting final approval from the Public Procurement Authority.
The MPs’ visit is expected to facilitate the necessary steps to ensure Justmoh Company receives the required funds to successfully complete this pivotal infrastructure initiative.
