THE CONVENTION People’s (CPP) Party parliamentary candidate for Kintampo North has donated assorted drugs to the Ghana Health Service (GHS) at a brief ceremony in Asantekwaa, an electoral area in the constituency.
James Kwabena Bomfeh Jnr. aka Kabila observed that as an indigene of the area, he was challenged to do something for the community following the kind gesture of Nnaa Dr David Mensah and his Northern Empowerment Association (NEA) when they provided a residential facility for health personnel posted to the Asantekwaa Health Post on March 30.
He noted that with the support of some doctor and pharmacist friends, he was able to assemble some drugs he felt were necessary for the health post and asked that though the presentation was taking place at Asantekwaa, the GHS should spread it throughout the constituency.
He appealed to GHS Director for Kintampo North, Dr Afreh to use his good office to help indigenes from Asantekwaa who make the required grades to get admission to the Kintampo College of Health.
According to Mr. Bomfeh, these people could easily be posted to man the facility without difficulty especially when people from elsewhere tend to refuse postings to such areas.
In response, Dr Afreh thanked Mr. Bomfeh for the donation adding “If we could get a few more people thinking like Kabila, our job would be made easier and become more fruitful.”
He advised his personnel to take good care of the items to encourage more donations to the health post.
The GHS director assured the drugs would be fairly distributed and used for their intended purpose.
He hinted that already, the GHS had reached an understanding with management of the Kintampo College of Health to give a certain quota of admissions to applicants from Kintampo.
