Kedan Company Limited, a maize processing company based in Tumu has donated 100 bags of high-quality cornflour to the Government to support its efforts to combat COVID-19.
The company has also declared 30 and 15 per cent discount on all its products to Government and the general public.
Mr Eric Kissi Danquah, the Chief Executive Officer of Kedan, said “Five dishes can be prepared from the product that includes TZ, Banku, porridge and Akple.
Mr Eric Kissi Danqua noted that the 100 bags of the corn flour to government was necessary because the human race was under threat as well as businesses hence the support.
Mr Danqua mentioned that the gesture was small, but could go a long way to help the frontline health workers, the poor and many other staff at the front line fighting COVID-19, especially in the lockdown period.
He further disclosed that the company was offering 30 per cent discount on all of its maize products to government entities and NGOs that wish to order large quantities to support in the COVID-19 fight and 15 per cent discount to individuals wishing to buy.
“Kedan therefore has come up with our widows might help the government control the threat of COVID-19,” the CEO said.
“As a company, our processing work is nearly two years old and we don’t have much, but we think where we are located in the Sissala area, strategically located in an area, which is a hub of maize in Ghana, we need to support,” he said.
Mr Karim Nanyua, the Sisalla East Municipal Chief Executive, who received the flour on behalf of the President expressed gratitude to Kedan for the benevolent offer.
Mr Karim assured that the cornflour will get to the appropriate authorities.
