Databank Ghana has announced that its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kekeli Gadzekpo will step down at the end of May, 2014 to assume the role of CEO at Enterprise Group.

In line with this, Kojo Addae-Mensah has been appointed as Databank?s new CEO.

Mr. Addae-Mensah joins the bank from Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) where he is currently serving as Chief Operating Officer.

Mr Addae-Mensah, in his acceptance speech, described Databank as a proud Ghanaian multinational that has introduced innovation in the financial sector since its launch in 1990.

A member of the bank in 1998, Mr. Addae-Mensah, expressed joy in returning to Databank after some 16 years.

Outgoing CEO Mr. Gadzekpo said: ?In Kojo Addae-Mensah, we have found all of the characteristics that we identified in our CEO?s succession plan to ensure Databank has the right leadership as it moves into a new phase.

?He has the values, vision, energy and the intellect to maintain our position as the leading asset management firm in Ghana.?

The CEO indicated that Mr. Addae-Mensah?s immense experience would go a long way to improve Databank.

Ken Ofori-Atta, Board Chairman of the Databank Group, in a speech, said Mr. Addae-Mensah represents deep-seated belief in the capacity of the new generation of Ghanaians.

He expressed optimism that the new CEO would create immense value for the bank?s clients and stakeholders.
