SDLP Deputy Leader Dolores Kelly
( January 06, 2013, UK, Refugee News Network )-SDLP Deputy Leader Dolores Kelly has appealed for people to look out for elderly neighbours after two homes were targeted in the Ballyoran area of the Garvaghey Road over the weekend.
The Upper Bann MLA urged everybody to be vigilant about their safety procedures at home.
She said: ?These were despicable crimes, targeting elderly people. One incident, I believe, occurred at an elderly person?s residence whilst they were attending Saturday night mass, which is just deplorable.
?I urge anybody with elderly neighbours or family members to make sure that all relevant safety precautions are in place at homes and ensure that doors and windows are kept locked. If anybody sees any suspicious behaviour at people?s homes, report it to the police, it?s better to be safe than sorry.
?I urge anybody with information about these crimes to contact police immediately.?
