Kenya says reduced Al-Shabaab threats in coast region

Kenyan authorities on Tuesday said a multi-agency security operation in the coastal county of Lamu has improved the region’s security.

Lamu County Commissioner Gilbert Kitiyo said Al-Shabaab attacks and attempts that were being witnessed in Lamu have dropped by almost 80 percent since the start of the operation, Linda Boni, in September 2015.
