Kenyan bourse indices close lower Friday

The Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) indices on Friday declined with the NSE 20 Share Index down 17.37 points to close at a new low of 3,710.32 as it gravitated below the psychological 3,700 points.

Some of the stocks whose prices fell on Friday pulling down the index were Safaricom, Sasini, Barclays Bank, Athi River Cement and Nation Media.

Similarly, the All Share Index (NASI) ended the week 4.5 percent points down to settle at 182.75 while the NSE 25 Share index went down 175.76 points to stand at 4,771.82.

The most-traded stocks were Safaricom (15.3 million shares), Barclays Bank (1.5 million), and Equity Bank (1.1 million). Enditem
