
Kenya’s Kenyatta University on Thursday marked Dragon Boat Festival amid growing China-Kenya ties.
During the event, several Chinese songs were performed by students of the Confucius Institute at the university.
Kamau Wango, director for Confucius institute at Kenyatta University, said that the festival is one of the most important Chinese cultural festivals.
Wango said the Chinese cultural event is gaining prominence in Kenya as more students learn Chinese language.
He noted that the event also provides an opportunity to showcase Kenyan culture as well as promote China-Kenya people-to-people exchanges. Enditem
