Kenyatta Hill, son of the late Jamaican reggae icon Joseph Hill of the legendary group Culture, has disclosed that his father recorded an anti-gay song that will never be released.

In an interview with Blakk Rasta on the 3FM Urban Blend show from his Maryland home, Hill explained that his father, a devout Rastafarian who adhered closely to biblical principles, expressed his views on homosexuality through the track.

“My father lived by the Bible, and if he saw something contrary to the Bible, he would speak out, and he did so in this song,” Kenyatta Hill said.

Hill, who served as the sound engineer for the project, revealed that he advised against releasing the track. “I was the producer of the album, and this song was supposed to be on the ‘World Peace’ album.

I decided it shouldn’t be released. At that time, there was significant backlash against artists like Buju Banton, TOK, and Capleton for their anti-gay lyrics,” he noted.

Hill further emphasized that his father’s legacy was broader than the controversial song’s message.

“I told my dad his career was more extensive than this issue. We wouldn’t focus on this subject, and the song would never be released.

To this day, I still have that record, and it will remain unreleased,” he asserted.

Kenyatta Hill, who took up his father’s mantle as a performer after Joseph Hill’s death during a European tour in 2006, has since made his mark in the music world.

Despite the tragic end of his father’s career, Hill’s performances have been met with acclaim, continuing his father’s legacy on stage.
