A former staff of the Lands Commission, Mr. Wilson Kofi Bonuedi, has been elected the new Presiding Member (PM) of the Keta Municipal Assembly at an emergency meeting on Monday at Keta.
In a poll supervised by the Electoral Commission, Mr. Bonuedi, 60, the sole candidate, garnered 28 votes of the 30-member Assembly, representing 93.33 percent in his favour, with two votes or 6.67 percent against.
He was sworn into office by the Presiding Judge of the Keta Circuit Court, Mr. Kwame Polley.
Mr. Bonuedi, who was a three-time Assembly Member of Anyako area, expressed gratitude to the Assembly for the confidence reposed in him.
His election preceded the confirmation of the President’s nominee for the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) position- Mr. Godwin Edudzi Effah.
