The U.S. Embassy in Ghana has officially reported with deepest sympathy that two U.S. citizens have been killed in the Eastern Region of Ghana.?
According to the release, the U.S. Embassy in Ghana is in contact with family members and is providing appropriate consular assistance, but could not say more due to privacy considerations.
It however expressed confidence in the rule of law in Ghana, and urged any residents with information regarding the incident to report it to the Ghana Police Service.
It could be recall that news broke out about two African American women have been allegedly murdered by unknown assailants on the outskirts of Akwamufie in the Asuogyaman District in the Eastern Region.
They have been identified as Mane Lena, 75, and Diop Nzanga, 69, who are said to have lived in a small settlement near Akwamufie for more than 18 years.
The bodies of the two were discovered in a shallow grave near the town on Wednesday, morning.
