Nurudeen Amadu Head Coach of Kumasi King Faisal, says the team is not aiming for the Africa Inter-Clubs campaign despite their impressive form this season.
King Faisal at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Sunday, ended the unbeaten run of Asante Kotoko by three goals to two in matchday six of the Ghana Premier League (GPL).
Zabairu’s three goals were enough for Faisal boys to pick all three points in the game at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The game ended 3-2 in favour of the away team with Kotoko striker, George Mfegue, scoring the two goals, which were not enough to earn his side a point.
After the match, Coach Nurudeen told the GNA Sports that his team was not ready for the Inter-Club Competition nor contemplating winning the league, despite their resolute performance in the matches played so far.
“We are looking for a respectable place on the league table and not to win the league or go to Africa.
We are on course, even though it is too early to talk about winning the league, but if we continue to work hard, we would be in a good position after the league,”, he told the GNA Sports.
Coach Nurudeen said the goal was not to win the league because of going to Africa.
King Faisal is second on the league log with 13 points, same as the league leaders, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, who are leading with a goal difference.
