Ghanaian music stars King Paluta and Amerado are set to headline this year’s Afrobeats Summer Jam, scheduled for Friday, July 26, 2024, in New York City.
The event, organised by the Chicago Ghanaian Council, aims to celebrate and elevate Ghanaian music globally. Fellow Ghanaian artists Lasmid and Nana Nyc will join King Paluta and Amerado. The lineup also includes international performers Big Hookz and American DJ-turned-musician DJ Noris.
An organising committee member, Nana NYC, emphasised the event’s role in propelling Ghanaian music to international prominence. “Our goal is to offer a unique platform for Ghanaian musicians to showcase their talent to a diverse and expansive audience,” he said. We hope participating artists will seize this opportunity to gain global recognition and broaden their fan base.”
King Paluta, known for his hit single “Makoma,” expressed his enthusiasm for the performance. “This platform is vital for promoting my culture and gaining exposure to a larger audience,” Paluta told Graphic Showbiz. “I am committed to delivering an unforgettable experience and showcasing the richness of Ghanaian music to the world.”
He added, “Our Highlife music is beautiful, and with the help of talented artists like Amerado, we will demonstrate that Ghana has some of the best music globally.”
