Mr. Kofi Addo-Agyekum the Vice President of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation (GAF), has urged various regional and national pullers to put up their best in competitions to attract investments to the federation.

The Federation for some time now had been making all efforts to pull investments to the sport.

Mr. Addo-Agyekum in an interview with GNA Sports said it was on the Federation’s main list to improve the sport in order to attract investors.

“What we are hoping for is to improve the sport very well for companies to see how armwrestling is developing for them to use us which will yield us profit to fund our operations.”

According to him, for these companies to see the improvement or development of the federation, the pullers need to put in more work as the association was doing in order for investors to come on board.

He said Ghana Armwrestling had seen massive improvement over the previous years, making reference to the just ended National Championship, which saw lots of representatives from the various regions to compete in the contest.

“We all witnessed what happened today, representatives from the various regions who came to support, even the level of seriousness from these competitors was on a different level.”

“Armwrestling has come to help the people of Ghana and it’s a very easy sport to play. In our childhood days we were even practicing it to test our strength.” He added

Speaking on whether the team would be able to win gold medals in their forthcoming African Championship in Nigeria, Mr Addo-Agyekum said the team had been one of the best on the continent and would continue to make Ghana proud having brought lots of medals in their previous competitions.
