Works and Housing Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has expressed relief that the Saglemi Housing Project remains intact following a fire that damaged a container housing office materials at the site.
Reports earlier revealed that the container, which housed administrative offices for the project, was torched and completely burned beyond recognition. Firefighters from the Ghana Fire Service worked quickly to extinguish the flames and prevent the fire from spreading further.
Following an inspection of the site, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah reassured the public, confirming that the main housing project itself was unaffected by the blaze. “Contrary to reports suggesting that the entire housing project was destroyed, I am happy to confirm that the main project is still intact,” he stated. “It was only the old shed and some materials stored in two containers that were affected by the fire. The work on the project will continue as planned,” he added.
