Komla Afeke DumorThe Government has agreed to proposals to name a street after former late BBC presenter Komla Afeke Dumor, who died on January 18, 2013 at the age of 41, myjoyonline.com reported Thursday.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale South, Mr Haruna Iddrisu, announced that government has directed the Ketu South District Assembly, where Komla Dumor hailed from, to name a street after him, the report noted.

According to the report, Mr Idrissu, who is also the Minister of Trade and Industry, made the announcement in Parliament Thursday.

The Member of Parliament for Ketu South, Fifi Kwetey is said to have read a read a statement to this effect on the floor of Parliament.

The MP for Dome Kwabenya, Adwoa Safo, is said to have lauded the decision, which she said will help recognise Komla’s service to country.

Komla is survived by a wife and three children.
