The Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) Limited has opened a new branch at Korle-Bu in Accra to provide members of the community and its environs with quick and easy banking services.

The opening followed the launching of the Labone branch of the Bank a month ago.

A statement from the Communication Department of the Bank said, Mr Daniel Wilson Addo, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Bank at the opening ceremony said the opening of the new branch was part of the Bank’s programme to right size its branch network.

By right sizing its branch network, the statement explained, was to close the poorly located branches of the bank and open new ones in line with its target operating model.

According to the statement, Mr Addo said the bank which currently has over 190 branches across the 16 regions of the country was poised to bringing banking services to the doorstep of its clients while deepening financial inclusion in the country.

“To ensure efficiency of operations, some branches of the bank which are poorly located as well as ones in areas with two or more branches in close proximity will be closed in the coming months,” he noted.
The statement said the CEO assured customers residing in and around Korle-Bu of a safe, secured and differentiated banking experience.

Mr Addo, the statement noted, said CBG started on a strong footing and would use its size, knowledge and vast experience of its staff to support large and small businesses across the country, and play its part to ensure a stable financial sector.

Naa Adoley Ablade I, the Queen Mother of the Sempe Traditional Area which includes Korle-Bu according to the statement, commended the CBG for the opening.

“For we the elderly, CBG has saved us a lot of travel time to far branches to transact business. All you have to do is to walk in and you’re sorted,” she said.

“The reception and interaction with customers here is amazing. I encourage people in Korle Bu and its environs to do business with CBG to access quality banking services,” she added.
