The Konongo Magistrate Court has denied yet another bail application for five juveniles standing trial for their alleged involvement in the murder of their colleague, also a student of the Konongo-Odumase Senior High School.

A similar application filed by counsel for the key suspect, Mr. Richard Adu Darko last Monday, November 8, was resisted by the prosecution who argued that, the Police needed the suspects to assist in investigations.

Mr. Darko in his application prayed that the court to grant the suspects bail in the interest of their education in accordance with the welfare principle of the Juvenile Justice Act.

The Court Presided over by Mrs. Joyce Bamfo, however, stated that the school environment was even a hostile ground for the students to study and refused the application and remanded the accused to facilitate the conclusion of Police investigations.

They are to reappear in court on Monday, November 22, this year.

It would be recalled that 17 year-old Larhan Sam-una was stabbed to death by the key suspect, Emmanuel Osei Frimpong on November 5 after he and the other four accomplices embarked on a bullying spree of other students on that fateful day.

According to the Police the five had gone to the House Three dormitory to bully the first year students after prep, but the deceased stood up for a colleague whom they were dragging away to molest.

This action infuriated Frimpong who stabbed the deceased at the lower left ribs area with a kitchen knife he had concealed on him.

Sam-una who bled profusely was pronounced dead shortly after being rushed to the Konongo-Odumase Government Hospital.
