The management of Kubori Nurses and Midwifery Training College in the Mamprugu Moaduri District urgently seeks government, philanthropists, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to complete a girls’ hostel that has stalled at the roofing stage.
The appeal comes as the college prepares to admit its second batch of students for the 2024–2025 academic year.
The incomplete hostel, designed to accommodate 400–500 female students, is a critical infrastructure project aimed at alleviating congestion in the existing accommodation facilities.
The project was initiated with initial donations from corporate bodies and community members, but progress has halted due to a lack of additional funding.
As the first tertiary institution in the Mamprugu Moaduri District, Kubori Nurses and Midwifery Training College, commissioned in 2023, is vital in advancing health education within the local community.
In an interview with Asaase News, the acting vice principal, Wunangi Salifu, highlighted the situation’s urgency.
“The funds we initially received helped us start this project, but we have now reached the roofing stage and urgently need further support to complete it,” Salifu said.
“We appeal to corporate bodies, NGOs, and the general public to contribute towards completing this facility. It is essential for accommodating our female students and ensuring that our infrastructure meets the college’s growing needs,” he added.
The college offers three diploma programs: public health nursing, midwifery, and general nursing.
Completing the hostel is crucial for the college to maintain its commitment to providing quality education and accommodating its expanding student body.
