The management of Kwahu Bepong SHS – BESCO has over the weekend dissolved the School old board of governors and reappoints new members to control the management and affairs of the school for the next 3 academic terms.


The Eastern Regional Director of Education Madam Andriana Kallengale who dissolved the old board and reappoint the new members said the new board shall be consisted of the Director General of Ghana Education Service representative from Accra, herself as the Regional Education Boss, the Mpreaso District Education Director, the school headmaster Mr. Emmanuel Tawiah, the chief of Bepong Nana Nyarko Buawuah 2nd, Mr. Steven Oppong Representative from the PTA, Mr. Okoffo Boadi Boampong ? the District coordination Director.


Also Mr. Ofosu Kissi Frank Sam ? Presiding member of the District Assembly, Rev. Benjamin Koosom Sackey- a member, Mr. Ahmed Sarfo as an Old Students Rep. Mrs. Agnes Agyeiwa also Old Student, Mr. Brako Hayford rep, from Bepong SHS non ? teaching staff, Mr. Ansah Ebenezer for the Teaching staff, Mr. Osae Emmanuel as Secretary and Mad. Mercy Small Darko as member.


The Regional Director thanks their acceptance to work for the school and urged them to use their duties and powers to exploits the betterment for the school to have a good name and appeals to the traditional rulers to help the school with projects. The new members were sworn in as the new Board of Governors for Bepong SHS.


The Headmaster of the School Mr. Emmanuel K. Tawiah in an open speech said the occasion is to inaugurate the new school board of Governors as reconstituted by the Educational Act of 1961 (ACT 87) to control and assist the Headmaster to perform his duties for Bepong SHS.


He said Bepong SHS like other schools was setup in 1997, and govt took over in 2000 with only 47 students, as at the beginning of the 2012/13 academic year the enrolment rose to 1,195 students, with 604 boys and 591 girls, also the school has good records of 100% for the pass WASSCE and among others.


He further express that the school faces challenges such as lack of infrastructures, classrooms, dinning hall, assembly hall, ICT center, staff bungalow while he travel from Mpraeso every day to the school even at night of about 10 km, and appeals to government and NGOs to help the educational improvement of the school.
