Kwahu East Assembly Broadens Education Access

The Kwahu East District Assembly, has completed a number of school buildings as part of government efforts to end schools under trees in the area.


The projects are also aimed at creating access to education for children in the district and help improve upon the standard of education.

Nana Antwi Siaw, the District Chief Executive (DCE) disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency, when he inspected the construction of two, three bedroom apartments, one for the District Health Directorate and the other for the District Magistrate Court and ongoing school projects in the district,.

He said a three- unit classroom blocks funded by the District Assembly Common Fund have been completed at Nkwatia, Oframase, Hyewohuden and Borukuwa .

Nana Siaw said the completed projects would be inaugurated and handed over to the Ghana Education Service and the beneficiary communities when school re-opens next academic term .

Another three- unit classroom block and a six units vault chamber toilet and a urinal are also under construction for schools at Ankoma and Kwahu Tafo and are expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Rehabilitation works at the Abetifi Roman Catholic (R/C) Basic School is also to be completed by the end of the Month .

The DCE said the projects are being funded by the Assembly’s District Development Funds, the Internal Generated funds and the District Assembly’s share of the Common Fund.
