The Kwahu Youth Choir (KYC) is marking its first anniversary with a celebratory musical concert, highlighting its dedication to choral music and community impact.
Established in January 2022, the choir has rapidly grown to 40 members from the Kwahu region.
KYC is partnering with Rock City Hotel, a key supporter, to commemorate this milestone with an anniversary concert-themed “A Year of Inspiration: KYC’s Journey.”
The event will showcase the choir’s achievements since its inception and will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 4 p.m. at Rock City Hotel in Nkwatia-Kwahu.
Kaakyire Kwabena Adusah, Executive Director of KYC, expressed his enthusiasm at the media launch for this significant milestone, stating, “Kwahu Youth Choir is celebrating its first anniversary, and we are thrilled to share this important occasion with you.”
Over the past year, KYC has performed at various events, including weddings, funerals, corporate gatherings, and more, leaving a notable impact on the community—their mission centres on glorifying God through music and fostering community bonds.
The anniversary concert promises a captivating program featuring a diverse repertoire that underscores the choir’s growth, talent, and commitment. Kaakyire emphasized, “We have prepared a thrilling program that will leave you inspired, uplifted, and entertained.”
Support from patrons like Nana Owiredu Wadie I and Hon. Davis Opoku Ansah has been instrumental in KYC’s journey. They have contributed significantly to the choir’s success and motivation.
Beyond musical prowess, KYC aims to nurture youth talent, cultivate leadership skills, and promote social responsibility. Their performances aim to spread the Good News and celebrate Ghanaian and African musical compositions.
