Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has announced his 26-man provisional for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
The shock inclusion is Ghana Premier League leading scorer Yahaya Mohammed who is captain of newly-promoted side Amidaus Professionals.
Mohammed, on-loan from Asante Kotoko, has scored 9 goals after ten rounds of matches in the Ghana top-flight.
The select pack of players include in-form winger Albert Adomah who plays in the English second-tier league for Bristol City.
Israel-based defender John Pantsil is the most-capped player after featuring in four Africa Cup of Nations finals.
They will begin a non-residential camping in Accra from January 2 to 6 before leaving for Abu Dhabi for a pre-tournament camping.
In the United Arab Emirates, the Black Stars will play two friendly matches against Egypt on 10 Janaury and Tunisia three days later.
The team will leave for their tournament base in Port Elizabeth on January 16.
Ghana will play DR Congo in their Group B opener on 20 January before matches against Mali and Niger.
