Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi

Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi has declared he will in the interim abstain from attending Hearts of Oak games in Accra over safety concerns.

The GFA boss was roughed up by irate supporters of the Phobians as he made his way out of the stadium in their CAF Confederation Cup defeat to AC Djoliba.

Nyantakyi has lodged a complaint with the Ghana Police but says he will not attend Hearts of Oak matches at their home grounds pending closure of his police case.

?I have decided not to attend Hearts of Oak matches in Accra,? he told Happy FM.

?I am doing this in order to keep myself safe because I might not be too lucky the next time.

?This is an interim measure pending the final determination of the case then I will now the definite line of action to take.?

The GFA boss? stance is widely considered as a massive indictment on the local game especially with efforts being made to improve patronage of matches.

Several persons have taken a similar stance over fears of getting hurt or suffering attacks from unruly supporters.

Hearts however progressed to the next stage of the CAF Confederation Cup despite their defeat to Djoliba.
