Kumawood actress Rose Mensah, popularly known as Kyeiwaa has ended her four-day old marriage to Kumasi based spare parts dealer Daniel Osei.
Kyeiwaa returned the ring and drinks on Thursday after she discovered that Osei was already married to another woman.
The 52-year old actress found her love Daniel Osei about a year ago and last Sunday, the two tied the knot at a traditional ceremony in Kumasi.
The plan was to organise a church wedding later on but barely a week into the marriage Kyeiwaa found out that Osei was already married to another woman.
In an interview on Kasapa FM Friday morning, Kyeiwaa said she was aware Osei had a child with another woman but she didn?t know he was married to her and since she didn?t want to be a second wife, the right thing to do was to end the marriage.
Kyeiwaa who is adored locally and abroad for her roles in Ghanaian movies told the radio station that she has never dated married men and so when she realized Osei wasn?t truthful and already had a wife, she decided to end it.
He didn?t show any sign that he had a wife. We dated for a year. I trusted him but he chose to betray me. He is very cunning. The way he is, he can easily get you to fall for him. I met him on the streets of Kumasi. I knew he had a child but he assured me that he had not engaged her. So it came to me as a shock that he had actually married her legally ? Kyeiwaa told the radio station.
I wanted to benefit from negative PR ? Kyeiwaa
Moments after the marriage ceremony, information about Osei being a married man started circulating but Kyeiwaa in the interview on Kasapa FM Friday morning said she initially decided not to pay attention to those ?rumours? of infidelity against Osei because she thought the claims were untrue.
She thought she could benefit from the negative publicity, and only realized she had been done in when it turned out they were actually true.
I still gave him benefit of the doubt. I still didn?t want to believe it was true that he had a wife ? she told the radio station. I thought I was going to benefit from the negative PR.
But it turned out days later that everything people were saying was the truth, she added.
