Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the lawmaker for North Tongu, has accused the Lands Commission of Ghana of complicity in selling state lands, alleging that certain commission officials are undermining state interests.

Speaking on TV3’s Key Points program on Saturday, Ablakwa criticized the Lands Commission for allegedly siding with a private developer against the Ghana Prison Service in a dispute over Bolster homelands.

He asserted that instead of supporting the state institution, some officials within the Lands Commission have actively provided evidence in favour of the private developer.

“The Lands Commission is complicit,” Ablakwa declared during the televised interview.

He emphasized that the issue was not a lack of data but more transparency and alignment with national interests.

The accusations underscore ongoing concerns about governance and transparency within Ghana’s land management institutions. Calls for increased accountability and adherence to legal and ethical standards in land transactions follow.
