Landslide Deadly Devastates Villages In Uganda.

Massive deadly landslide caused by rain has destroyed villages, in the mountainous district of?Bududa?in Uganda killing over 30 people?and more than 100 people are reported missing in eastern Uganda?after two villages were buried by a landslide on the slopes around the mountains of?Bududa.
Heavy rainfall resulted a mudslide that pushed trees and bushes, burying two villages in mud. Area villagers dug into the earth using their bare hands and other farm tools in the hope of saving relatives and neighbours who might still be alive in the trap, as family members waited?impatiently?in agony to see their relatives dead or alive.
According to Ms.?Hariet?Nambit, a woman who survived, but lost her eight-year-old son in the landslide. “When going to the market to sell things, I left my son with his father, when the landslide happened they were having lunch, his father started running on noticing the landslide, he tried to call my son but the boy could not run as fast, the descending soil caught up with him and he got buried in the mud.” The people of Ugandan are still entertaining fears that the?continuous?heavy rainfall could lead to further mudslide accidents.
