Late Arrival Costs Asamoah Serbian Liga Debut

Striker Nathaniel Asamoah had his Serbian Super Liga debut for Red Star Belgrade delayed after arriving late from Ghana last week.

The 22-year-old was in Ghana last month to acquire a new passport to finalise his move to the former European champions after sealing a four-year deal in January.

The former Asante Kotoko goal poacher was expected to feature in Red Star’s home game against Spartak Subotica but was unable to make the final 18-man squad.

Asamoah however warmed the bench for the reserves side on Sunday. “Asamoah did not play because he arrived late from Ghana. He was on the bench for the reserves,” a Red Star insider told MTNFootball.com He is likely to earn a place in the first team who travel to Javor Ivanjica next Saturday.Previous post: Black Stars Stagnant In Latest Fifa Ranking
