Lawyer Kwame Adofo

A Private Legal Practitioner Kwame Adofo has suggested to the security forces to ensure that Marwako fast food Lebanese Supervisor Jihad Chaaban who allegedly splashed blended hot pepper on the face of his subordinate faces prosecution.

The face of Evelyn Boakye was over the weekend dipped in blended hot pepper by her supervisor at Abelenkpe, Accra for delaying with her responsibilities.

The supervisor who was arrested by the police has been granted bail.

But speaking with Lantam Papanko on Ultimate Breakfast Show, Lawyer Adofo further suggested to the victim to initiate legal action against her assailant and employers.

‘In relation to the police, I am aware that the perpetrator was arrested and granted bail. It must follow or it should ordinarily followed that he will be put before a court, and the court will give him the necessary punishment if he is found guilty of the offence. The victim can also think of initiating civil action against the employee as well as the employer. Definitely there has to be an action of some sort,’ he said.

Lawyer Adofo said Mr Chaaban’s visa should be looked into as to whether he is on a working visa or just visiting.

He added that the supervisor needs to be deported if he is on a visiting permit but using his visa to work.

The private legal practitioner added that most foreign nationals have over stayed their visas calling on government to crack the whip on foreigners who go against the law.

‘Even if his visa is tight, he should be deported for exhibiting bad character. Most of them come to our country and disrespect our laws. If they are not on the right visas, their visas should be revoked, no matter the money they are investing in the country, they should be deported,’ he stated.

He called on Ghanaians working with foreigners who physically abuse them to bring them to book suggesting the country ensures that its laws are respected.

‘One of the best way to punish the employers is for patrons to boycott the food joint, until we check these foreign nationals, they will continue to come to Ghana and disrespect us,’ he fumed.
