Madam Akosua Nkrumah, a Psychotherapist based in the United Kingdom has called on Ghanaians to stop stigmatization against people with mental health problems.
She said the Covid-19 is most likely to bring a rise in other problems to people as they would be thinking about money, marriage, education and other issues which they may not be able to solve, and could lead to something else.
She noted that mental problems, like physical health problems can be solved with medication.
Madam Nkrumah advised people who suffer mental problems to seek medical care at the right sources, as countries like Ghana and Nigeria in West Africa have psychological societies who can help.
She encouraged patients to report to the medical experts on time, so that they can be supported or seek help from trained counselors.
She also called on the government and Ministry of Health to put in measures to stop mental health, or bring it down.
