Let’s not be passionate but truthful – Grant warns

Black Stars head coach Avram Grant has cautioned that Ghanaians should not be sensitive, but truthful when it comes to the issue of giving local players the opportunity to play for the senior national team.

“Let’s not be passionate here, let’s be very honest in discussing this issue. For me, I don’t look at where one plays his football, but the quality, so if a player proves to possess the quality that I need I’ll give him the opportunity,” he said.

Avram Grant has suffered lots of criticism for not giving chance to players who plays in the Ghana Premier League to prove themselves in the Black Stars but the coach also think otherwise.

Whereas Mr. Grant think the local players don’t possess enough quality that merits them a chance in the Black Stars, Ghanaians also continues to argue that Claude Le Roy managed to identify Kwadwo Asamoah, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, Samuel Inkoom, Harrison Afful, and Anthony Annan to be part of the team that represented Ghana at the 2008 African Cup of Nations.
