The 2024 presidential running mate of the National Democratic Congress, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, paid a one-day working visit to Tema East, Tema West, and Tema Central constituencies.
She first paid a courtesy call to the Tema Newtown chiefs and elders and congratulated them on their successful Homowo celebration. She then moved to Tema Central.
The Tema Central parliamentary candidate representing the NDC, Hon. Ebi Bright, promised to make TVET programs accessible to fashion designers, hairdressers beauticians, and all artisans in the constituency.
Former party chairman Ofosu Ampofo also spoke on some of the achievements of the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress. He said it was former president John Dramani Manama, who built the MPS Terminal 3, one the best harbors in Africa, as part of the Tema Port Expansion Project.

Mr. Ampofo mentioned that H. E. John Dramani Mahama built the International Maritime Hospital (IMaH).
He emphasized the importance of the NDC’s 24-hour economy policy and the benefits it will bring.
He sang Professor Opoku-Agyemang’s praises saying she is the best person to partner with John Dramani Mahama to rule the country with integrity, breathe life into the economy, and ensure the security of lives and property.
The former chairman urged Ghanaians, especially Tema Central electorates to vote for Mr. Manama as president and Hon. Ebi Bright as the member of parliament.
Mr. Ofosu Ampofo urged support for Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang while introducing her to the constituents.
The running mate appealed to Ghanaians to work closely together to move Ghana forward. She noted, “If you want to build, start progressively and finish well”.
Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang continued, “What the former chairman said is true. Tema Central is not supposed to experience a high unemployment rate, because most factories and companies are in Tema. The next NDC government will work alongside the private sector to create more employment opportunities nationwide”.
She advised the electorate to vote massively for the NDC’s presidential and parliamentary candidates. She also discouraged the constituents from voting ‘skirt and blouse’ in the December 2024 general elections to demonstrate love for the party and enjoy its full support when elected into government.
