In the ongoing legal proceedings concerning Ghanaian actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, his lawyer, Margaret Mary Adjei Twum, has reiterated his innocence in a tragic accident resulting in the death of a three-year-old boy.
Lil Win was arrested on June 3, 2024, following an incident involving a vehicle he was driving, which led to the unfortunate death. He was subsequently granted bail of 50,000 Ghana Cedis with two sureties by the Asokore Mampong district court.
During recent court proceedings on July 29, 2024, Twum informed the court that they are awaiting advice from the Attorney General’s office regarding the case docket. She expressed optimism that her client would not face prosecution, emphasizing that Lil Win was not at fault during the incident.
Twum acknowledged the incident’s profound impact on Lil Win, particularly noting its negative effect on his professional endeavours, such as the movie “A Country Called Ghana.”
She emphasized that their focus remains on defending Lil Win’s innocence and supporting the family of the deceased in finding comfort and closure.
“We are standing firm on his innocence until proven otherwise,” Twum stated, underscoring their commitment to the case pending further reports from the Attorney General.
The incident has garnered significant public attention and sympathy, with ongoing developments expected as legal proceedings continue.
